"I think that more diversity is a good thing, and fresh points of view articulated by people who are committed to excellence in journalism is a beneficial change in the American media landscape."

- Al Gore

Music. Television. Film. Radio. Brandon loves all things media.

Brandon grew up in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio and his love for the media industry didn't spark until his freshman year of high school. He was always told he was a great writer by his teachers and colleagues. After taking his first two journalism classes his first semester in college, he fell in love with journalism.

Brandon is a junior journalism major. Through the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Kent State University, he is learning the necessary skills needed to become a successful journalist, including copy editing, video production and editing, broadcast performance, writing, and design.

During his time in college, Brandon has been heavily involved with the student media organizations on campus. He worked with TV2, The Kent Stater/KentWired, and Black Squirrel Radio.

He is currently interning at the Akron Beacon Journal and WKSU, an NPR-affiliate radio station. He is also a fellow for the Carnegie-Knight News21 fellowship program.

Brandon is truly passionate about media literacy and diversity within the media. Through quality storytelling, he wants to create an environment where people of all backgrounds can be successful and represented well.
